It falls on the second day of Shukla Paksha in Kartik, after Diwali. This year, it falls on November 3rd (Monday).

Rituals for Bhai Dooj should be done at the right time. Brothers visit their sisters annually to celebrate.

There are other stories too. For instance, Lord Krishna visited Subhadra after defeating the demon Narakasura. Also, Mahavira’s brother, King Nandivardhan, found comfort with Sudarshana. This was after Mahavira’s passing, inspiring the festival. Another tale is about Goddess Lakshmi asking Bali for help. She wanted to free Lord Vishnu. This led to a festival celebrating sibling bonds.

Bhai Dooj captures the love between siblings. It mixes stories of love, devotion, and family.

Bhai Dooj celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
